Judging A Book By Its Cover

I am totally smitten with this cover for Jane Austen's Persuasion. It's always been one of my favorite books and this picture makes it even lovelier. I'm guilty of buying a new copy just for the prettier cover. No judging please! In my defense, the older book had water damage after a trip to the ocean. Apparently chair surfing while reading has its downsides.

Pretty Purchases

I found a set of dainty little trays with the Ethan Allen Flintlock Pistol on them at my favorite antique shop. It was quite a steal at only $6 for the whole set. They've been the perfect spot for jewelry, bobby pins and spare change to accumulate.
These tiny bowls from The Clay Element Studio just melt my heart. I want to pet them they're so pretty. Unfortunately so does my cat Nico. She patrols them nightly plotting their destruction.

What I learned this weekend...

Laughing makes my leg hurt.
The temporary tattoo I ironically put on last night is not so temporary.
If I want to dance around like a ballerina at work, remember the security cameras.
Speaking in french makes me feel pretty.
The Tyrannosaurs Rex would make a horrible boxer.

Another Day at the Office...

It's always necessary to interrupt the exciting world of spreadsheets, especially when it involves one of these. Our director called us down from our pods to check out a Magnetscope! Its inventor had a little private viewing for a few museum employees today and it was definitely a hit. Operation 'Distract Elizabeth From Excel Budgeting' has been extremely successful.

I love this close up shot of the ferrofluid reacting to the magnets.
