There's no place like home...

There isn't a nicer place to be in all of America than a Chatham Band Concert on Friday night. It's a kind of Leave it to Beaver perfect moment that is almost surreal. I've been coming for 28 years (my first concert was spent inside mom's womb -ew). And I still sing my heart out to every show tune, my mouth full of candy, balloon and glow stick tied to each wrist. All captured under trees and stars and bandstand lights, surrounded with white picket fences and children who know that the hokey pokey is what it's all about.

Tennesse Williams meets Popeyes Chicken

The show: Blanche Survives Katrina in a FEMA Trailer Named Desire. The verdict: Love, love, loved it!
The name pretty much sums it up.
This was FANTASTIC. We planned on hitting P-Town for a more traditional drag show but couldn't pass this up once we heard the title. It was heartfelt, thoughtful and side-splitting. I also love that I used the word "traditional" when describing a type of drag show.

Edward Gorey House +1 Giant Cat

While visiting my family in Cape Cod I stopped by the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouthport and had a wonderful time. For such a small house they really have an extensive amount of books, clothing, sketches and a rather hefty cat. What I enjoyed the most were the lovely little items he collected; matches, oodles of stones, glass bottles, wind up toys, even a months worth of receipts from his local restaurant. Gorey definitely appreciated the beautiful silhouettes found in everyday objects and you could really see how he turned these shapes into the intricate drawing of his little creatures.

*Giant Cat Pics soon to follow!

Green Gables

It does exist! My mother was adamant that somewhere in Prince Edward Island you could actually see Anne's perfect little bedroom. Well she was correct my friends and it's just as perfect as Anne's pretty puffed sleeves.
