Balloon Spirit

Monday, June 1, 2009

I like my art green, and glowing.

While visiting Saint Louis I was excited to find this piece by Claudia Schmacke and couldn't get it out of my head. I love things that are incredibly simple and yet provoke an absurd amount of thought. I was bouncing from my grandmother's medical tubing to garden hoses and Astroturf. It even reminded me of those brightly colored glow necklaces from my childhood. Hmmm, I'm so going to buy one of those on my way home tonight.

Aerostat Reveillon

My head drifts, connecting dots on the ceiling with stars. Counting hair follicles and fancy shoe collections. I sigh heavily and suck in. Holding the breath through to a new age. Expecting a change in molecules, but I'm here. Again and still and forever. Floating unfinished.
